Up again at

Original Post: "Blankets"

As you can see, my original posts are much shorter. "Blankets" Self descriptive on what is going on. Dad's blankets need to be tucked back in around him for one reason or another. Maybe he shifted in his sleep, maybe he got up to use the urinal, maybe he tugged the blankets up and uncovered his feet - whatever the cause, the blankets need to be adjusted and placed back over him properly once again.

After years of this same thing night after night I have a good idea when I see the things if they can just be tugged into place or if I have to yank the blankets off the bed and relayer them starting with the sheet.

I sent this message via my cell phone's text feature when I was woke up by my dad because his blankets had fallen off the bed and needed to be put back up there. I'm now, the next day, editing it to make it more readable.

I'm not asleep... but that doesn't mean I'm awake.
~Author Unknown

How do people go to sleep? I'm afraid I've lost the knack.

The feeling of sleepiness when you are not in bed, and can't get there, is the meanest feeling in the world.
~Edgar Watson Howe

The days are cold, the nights are long,
The North wind sings a doleful song;
Then hush again upon my breast;
All merry things are now at rest,
Save thee, my pretty love!
~Dorothy Wordsworth,
"The Cottager to Her Infant"

Even thus last night, and two nights more I lay,
And could not win thee, Sleep, by any stealth:
So do not let me wear to-night away.
Without thee what is all the morning's wealth?
Come, blessed barrier between day and day,
Dear mother of fresh thoughts and joyous health!
~William Wordsworth, "To Sleep"
